These stairs are killing me and I have to come to terms with the fact that they'll never be clean looking or perfect. Maybe I should stop being so hard on myself since this is my first build AND I'm working with something that was half assembled. I'm just doing my best. I'm considering putting a little laundry room in the closet area (there's supposed to be a door there). The FB dollhouse group suggested a sub flooring to get around the impossible to fix floor issues, so that's what I'm doing.
